58th Mixtape Feature: Versis

Gimmicks and cosigns will only get you so far in life, but having pure talent can get you into doors that you never knew existed. If you need to take notes to steer clear of the nonsense, look for Versis. He has released the Synergy EP a few days ago and it’s nearly impossible to not like the style he lays upon the track. One more thing you need to pay attention to is respect the production done entirely by Lucid.

Mike Classic – See Right Thru To You

Mike Classic’s “See Right Thru To You” is the second single from Where Amazing Happens and the mixtape should be coming soon. Mike Classic is doing a great job with outputting a lot of charisma in his songs.
Junclassic – Forever In His Childhood

“Forever In His Childhood” is Junclassic’s reinterpretation of Nas’ “2nd Childhood”, from Stillmatic and he even keeps the production by DJ Premier. Junclassic is putting out a lot of product from Southside’s Savior and if you missed any of it, just search “Junclassic” to pick up the other leaks.

K. Sparks – Identity Crisis

Nowadays every new artist coming into the game seems to have Identity Crisis…meaning that they all try to be other rap artist that are already in the game…keeping that in mind I challenged myself with this song to copy the styles of 8 rap artist that I like that are in the game now…check it out and see if you can figure out which artist I mimicked for this song…
- K. Sparks
I like the way K. Sparks approached this subject about how some new artists are trying to be like another artists. It’s good to have a role model of some sort, but don’t try to actually become them. By the way, I think I heard a little Asher Roth and Cam’ron, but I tend to be off.

Choclair – The Essence

With several Junos, MuchMusic awards and gold records; Choclair again dominates both the Canadian and state side underground music scene with a DJ Bless produced single ‘The Essence.’
Junclassic – Best Around

The third single from Southside’s Savior is based around The Karate Kid theme song and basically a track to get you motivated, but I can’t help but to imagine Junclassic running up stairs like in the Rocky movie (I know, 2 DIFFERENT movies).

Versis – Watchout! ft. Lucid

Versis‘ first EP, Synergy, will soon be released (July 11th) and I think this is pretty late to release a first single, but I guess Versis has his own agenda. Versis will also have a release party for Synergy the same night so click here for more info.
